We are more than a company of dream makers; we are a family of dream makers. Our family includes the team members that work here, the brokers that partner with us, and the communities in which we operate. If our family can dream it, we are here to help them achieve it.

 

 

 

Community

We strive to help as many people in our communities as possible by partnering with local business, municipalities, non-profits, and schools.

  • Team Member Volunteer Hours — Each year, we provide team members paid time off to volunteer for the charity or cause of their choice.
  • Learning Opportunities for the Community — We help students excel in the classroom and in life by partnering with the Pontiac School District, Beyond Basics, and Arts and Technology Academy of Pontiac. Additionally, our FutureYou initiative assists foster children in developing personal and professional skills.
  • A Community of Good — Our Pay It Forward program allows team members the chance to earn points that are redeemable for charitable donations, giving them the opportunity to choose where the Company’s charitable dollars are spent and ensure that even small gestures result in generous contributions.
  • Resources for the Community — Our UWM Sports Complex offers recreational activities and sports opportunities for local youth. In addition to hosting weekly community sporting events, we hosted a charity flag football game to raise funds for the Adopt-A-Family program.

United Wholesale Mortgage gives more than 45,000 volunteer hours as paid time off to employees each year for the charity or organization of their choice.

 

Corporate Responsibility

We do our part to preserve the health of our community and environment.

  • Reduce, Reuse and Recycle — We continue to utilize high-efficiency electrical equipment, including LED and motion detector lighting and high-efficiency HVAC units.
  • Community Garden — Our campus includes 16 garden beds that individual teams and facilities oversee. Each team grows a variety of vegetables and flowers, having the option to donate, share with other teams, or bring home to their families.
  • Innovation Leading to Corporate Responsibility – We embrace feedback and encourage team members to submit their ideas that will better UWM by creating new technology, cutting unnecessary costs, and providing a better client experience. Through our partnership with One Tree Planted, we plant a tree for every implemented Brilliant Idea and Pay It Forward contribution. Over 1,000 trees planted through our 2024 contributions to One Tree Planted.
  • Team Members’ Impact – Our team member resource group, Green United, focuses on raising awareness and educating team members about environmental issues, while providing tips on ways to reduce waste, save energy, and maximize the use of our outdoor spaces.

United Wholesale Mortgage’s (UWM) commitment to preserving the health of our community and environment through our reduce, reuse and recycle program has led to 643,000+ plastic water bottles and 341,000+ pounds of paper recycled. Plus, UWM has planted 1,000+ trees through our partnership with One Tree Planted.

  • Leadership Development and Training — Our leaders receive extensive education on how to foster an inclusive workplace. We know that creating an environment of safety for our team members starts with each leader setting that tone with their direct reports.
  • Social and Cultural Awareness — We honor and acknowledge cultural celebrations throughout the year, including hosting numerous on-campus celebrations highlighting cultural milestones and events such as Eid, Juneteenth, Lunar New Year, Diwali, and more.
  • Be You Here — We encourage team members to bring their unique background, ideas, and experiences to help power their dreams and our business forward. We also provide each team member with two Be You Here days every calendar year (in addition to paid time off) to allow them to celebrate the days that matter most to them.
  • Team Member Diversity — As of December 31, 2024, approximately 45% of our team members were female, and approximately 41% of our team members who chose to identify their ethnicity identified as ethnically diverse. The average age of our team members is 34 years old, reflecting a dynamic group of professionals.
